Production → Income → Expenditure
| Stock | Flow |
|---|---|
| ఒక నిర్దిష్ట point of time వద్ద కొలుస్తారు | ఒక period of timeలో కొలుస్తారు |
| ఉదా: Wealth, Capital Stock | ఉదా: Income, Saving, Investment |
Domestic → Where produced?
National → Who earned?
ఒక accounting periodలో దేశపు domestic economic territoryలో ఉత్పత్తి చేయబడిన final goods and services యొక్క monetary valueను Gross Domestic Product (GDP) అంటారు.
✓ Domestic Territory
✓ Final Goods and Services
✓ Given Accounting Period
✓ Monetary Value
✓ Gross Measure
| Final Goods | Intermediate Goods |
|---|---|
Double Counting
1. Final Goods Method
2. Value Added Method
| Stage | Sale Value | Intermediate Cost | Value Added |
|---|---|---|---|
| Farmer | ₹100 | ₹0 | ₹100 |
| Flour Mill | ₹150 | ₹100 | ₹50 |
| Baker | ₹200 | ₹150 | ₹50 |
Final Product Value = ₹200
Domestic concept నుంచి National conceptకు మారడానికి residentsకు rest of the world నుంచి లభించే primary/factor income మరియు non-residentsకు చెల్లించే primary/factor income మధ్య net differenceను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుంటారు.
Traditional exam terminology
Traditional formula:
NFIA = Factor Income Received from Abroad − Factor Income Paid Abroad
Gross National Income నుంచి depreciationను deduct చేస్తే Net National Income లభిస్తుంది.
Traditional terminologyలో:
Competitive-exam textbooksలో National Incomeను సంప్రదాయంగా NNP at Factor Costగా పేర్కొంటారు.
పాత textbooksలో GDP at Factor Cost, NNP at Factor Cost terminology విస్తృతంగా కనిపిస్తుంది.
Modern National Accountsలో GDP at Market Prices మరియు GVA at Basic Prices terminology ముఖ్యమైనది.
Net Indirect Taxes subtract
FC → MP వెళ్తే Net Indirect Taxes add
Modern Indian National Accountsలో Gross Value Added (GVA) కూడా అత్యంత ముఖ్యమైన aggregate.
| GDP | GNI / GNP |
|---|---|
| GDP | GDP + Net Primary/Factor Income from Abroad |
↓ subtract Depreciation
NDP
GDP
↓ add Net Primary/Factor Income from Abroad
GNI / GNP
GNI / GNP
↓ subtract Depreciation
NNI / NNP
Current year quantitiesను current year pricesతో value చేస్తే Nominal GDP లేదా GDP at Current Prices లభిస్తుంది.
Real GDP → Volume/real output changes
| Feature | Nominal GDP | Real GDP |
|---|---|---|
| Prices | Current Prices | Constant Prices |
| Inflation Effect | Included | Price effect removed/controlled |
| Use | Current money value | Real output growth comparison |
Nominal GDP మరియు Real GDP మధ్య relationship ఆధారంగా overall domestically produced final goods and services price levelను సూచించే measureను GDP Deflator అంటారు.
Nominal GDP = ₹550 crore
Real GDP = ₹500 crore
= 110
2. Income Method
3. Expenditure Method
Production processలో factors of productionకు లభించే incomesను కలిపి income aggregateను లెక్కిస్తారు.
Labour → Wages / Compensation
Land → Rent
Capital → Interest
Entrepreneur → Profit
Final goods and servicesపై చేసిన expenditureను కలిపి GDPను estimate చేసే approachను Expenditure Method అంటారు.
C = Private Consumption Expenditure
I = Investment
G = Government Expenditure
X = Exports
M = Imports
C + I + G + (X − M)
| Method | Focus |
|---|---|
| Product Method | Production / Value Added |
| Income Method | Income generated in production |
| Expenditure Method | Final Expenditure |
Current productionలో భాగమైన final goods and servicesను include చేస్తారు.
Second-hand good original production
Transfer Payment ≠ Factor Payment
Factor Payment → productive serviceకు payment
Transfer Payment → current productive service
Simple two-sector economyలో Households factors of productionను Firmsకు అందిస్తాయి. Firms వాటికి factor incomes చెల్లిస్తాయి. Households ఆ incomeతో goods and services కొనుగోలు చేస్తాయి.
Households → Factors of Production → Firms
Firms → Goods & Services → Households
Firms → Wages, Rent, Interest, Profit → Households
Households → Consumption Expenditure → Firms
| Leakages | Injections |
|---|---|
| Saving (S) | Investment (I) |
| Taxes (T) | Government Expenditure (G) |
| Imports (M) | Exports (X) |
Leakages → S, T, M
Injections → I, G, X
Domestic demand, purchasing power, market integration మరియు access to international markets production incentivesను ప్రభావితం చేస్తాయి.
✓ Income Distribution
✓ Environmental Damage
✓ Unpaid Household Work
✓ Leisure
✓ Quality of Life
✓ Some Non-market Activities
GDP ≠ Complete Measure of Welfare
India's National Accounts base year is now:
2022–23
Older books may still show 2011–12. For current-data questions, use the latest official series.
| Official Indicator | Latest Exam Fact |
|---|---|
| GDP Base Year | 2022–23 |
| Real GDP 2024–25 | ₹299.89 lakh crore |
| Real GDP Growth 2024–25 | 7.1% |
| Nominal GDP 2024–25 | ₹318.07 lakh crore |
| Nominal GDP Growth 2024–25 | 9.7% |
| 2025–26 Second Advance Estimate – Nominal GDP | ₹345.47 lakh crore |
| 2025–26 Second Advance Estimate – Per Capita NNI at Current Prices | ₹2,07,598 |
Suppose:
GDP at Market Price = ₹1,000 crore
Depreciation = ₹100 crore
NFIA = ₹20 crore
Net Indirect Taxes = ₹80 crore
GNP at MP = GDP at MP + NFIA
= 1000 + 20
= ₹1,020 crore
Step 2: Gross → Net
NNP at MP = 1020 − 100
= ₹920 crore
Step 3: Market Price → Factor Cost
NNP at FC = 920 − 80
= ₹840 crore
National Income = ₹840 crore
