Demand – డిమాండ్ భావన - APPSC ASO Economics

Advertisemtnt

ఆ వస్తువును కొనాలనే కోరిక (Desire), కొనుగోలు చేసే ఆర్థిక సామర్థ్యం (Ability to Pay), ధర చెల్లించడానికి సిద్ధత (Willingness to Pay) ఉండాలి.

Quick Concept

Desire + Ability to Pay + Willingness to Pay = Demand
Demand –

Demand

Desire Demand
Demand Function –

Dx = f(Px, Pr, Y, T)

Dx = Good X యొక్క Demand
Px = Good X ధర
Pr = Related Goods ధరలు
Y = Consumer Income
T = Tastes and Preferences

Determinants of Demand –
(Price of Commodity)

2. Consumer Income

3. Related Goods Prices

4. Tastes and Preferences

5. Population

6. Technology

7. Weather / Climate

Inferior Goods
Normal Good Inferior Good
Income ↑ Demand ↑ Demand ↓
Income ↓ Demand ↓ Demand ↑
Income–Demand Relation Positive Negative
Exam Alert

Inferior Good మరియు Giffen Good అనే పదాలను ఒకే అర్థంలో ఉపయోగించకూడదు.

Substitute Goods –

Tea – Coffee

Price of Substitute ↑ → Demand for Given Good ↑

Complementary Goods –

Tea – Sugar, Shoes – Socks, Pen – Ink

Price of Complement ↑ → Demand for Given Good ↓
Substitutes vs Complements
Substitutes Complements
Relationship Alternative Use Joint Use
Example Tea – Coffee Tea – Sugar
Related Good Price ↑ Given Good Demand ↑ Given Good Demand ↓
Law of Demand –

Price ↑ → Quantity Demanded ↓

Price ↓ → Quantity Demanded ↑

ఈ సంబంధాన్ని Law of Demand అంటారు.

Demand Schedule
Price (₹) Quantity Demanded (kg)
501
402
303
204
105

Law of Demand – ప్రధాన Assumptions

✓ Consumer Income

✓ Tastes and Preferences

✓ Substitute Goods Prices

✓ Complementary Goods Prices

✓ కొత్త substitutes రావకూడదు.

✓ Future Price Expectations

Memory Trick

Ceteris Paribus = Other Things Remaining Constant
Exceptions to the Law of Demand

1. Giffen's Paradox

2. Prestige Goods

3. Speculation

4. Price Illusion

5. Ignorance

6. Habitual Goods

Movement Along the Demand Curve

Own Price Change

Movement Along the SAME Demand Curve

Price ↓ → Expansion of Demand

Price ↑ → Contraction of Demand
Expansion of Demand

Contraction of Demand

Shift of Demand Curve

Income, Related Goods Prices, Tastes and Preferences వంటి Own Price కాకుండా ఇతర determinants మారితే మొత్తం Demand Curve shift అవుతుంది.

Increase in Demand → Rightward Shift

Decrease in Demand → Leftward Shift
Graph – Increase in Demand

Individual Demand మరియు Market Demand

Market Demand = Sum of Individual Demands
Market Demand – Numerical Example
Price Consumer A Consumer B Consumer C Market Demand
₹25 16 15 12 43
₹30 12 11 10 33
₹35 10 9 8 27
₹40 8 6 4 18
