Attention students, the final year university examination across
Maharashtra are to be canceled by the Government. Further, students
would be given marks on the basis of aggregate scores of their previous
semesters as informed by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Chief Minster
held a meeting via video conference with vice-chancellors of
universities to consult about the examinations of final year students.
“As the monsoon begin, the academic year will start. There are questions about when schools and colleges will begin and if and when final year exam will be held.” He further tweeted that “I held a meeting of Vice-Chancellors yesterday regarding final year college exams. They unanimously said that the present circumstances do not allow for examinations to be held immediately as it is risky for lakhs of students to come together for exams.”
CM Uddhav Thackeray mentioned that the government is planning to start the new academic session soon that will be either virtual or actual by following the norms of social distancing.
Further, as per reports, CM Uddhav Thackeray said that
“Today,
we are not in a position to conduct the exams and in the future when it
will happen that we are not also sure. The new academic year is
starting so we do not students miss their further educations and career
opportunity. Those students are not happy with the mark of last semester
they can reply to upgrade their mark once the situation is normal,” the
chief minister said.
Maharashtra Government has already canceled the first and second-year
examinations and looking at the condition of the state, the decision was
taken for the third year students too.
