NTA UGC NET Dec 2019: Application process begins @ ugcnet.nta.nic.in

UGC NET December 2019 registration: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has started the online registration process of the Joint UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2019.

The last date to submit the application form for UGC NET 2019 is Oct 10, 2019
The Joint UGC test will be conducted from 2nd Dec 6th Dec at 27 centres spread all over India.

The test is held for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (LS) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science and Technology.

The award of Junior Research Fellowship (NET) to the successful eligible candidates will depend on their finding admission/placement in a university/ national laboratory/ institution of higher learning and research, as applicable.

 UGC NET 2019: How to apply

  • Go to the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in
  • Click on 'Apply Online' link
  • After reading all the instructions, click on 'Register here'
  • Make your login account using your email id, password and mobile number
  • Again, on the homepage, click on 'Login'
  • Enter all the required information in the space provided
  • Complete the payment process
  • Click on submit

UGC NET 2019: Application fee

All the candidates need to pay Rs 1,000 for the exam. Applicants from the OBC / ESW category candidates need to pay Rs 500 and SC/ST/PwD category candidates should pay Rs 250.

Exam pattern:

The paper will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQ) based on the subjects of life science, Earth science, Mathematical science, Chemical science, and Physical science.

UGC NET 2019: Required educational qualification

The Candidate should hold an MSc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS with at least 55 per cent marks. While for reserved category, it is 50 per cent.
Apart from this, the candidate holding BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55 per cent marks can apply too.

Age limit criteria:

JRF (NET): The upper age limit is 30 years

SC/ST and PwD category: The upper age limit is relaxable till 5 years

OBC category candidates: The upper age limit is relaxed for three more years

Lectureship: There is no upper age limit

Stipend:

The stipend of a JRF selected through CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) will be Rs 25, 000 pm (under revision) for the first two years. In addition, annual contingent grant of Rs 20,000 per fellow will be provided to the University/Institution. The Fellowship will be governed by terms and conditions of CSIR, UGC or Research Scheme, as applicable.
